Portomarín to Palas de Rei…

Another 15 miles closer to Santiago today…with more hot and humid weather. It was pushing 40 degrees celsius, which translates to 104 fahrenheit. Some high clouds provided some relief for part of the journey.

Again, many more people and school groups on the trail. Some high schools offer a summer program that gets the students into the great outdoors.

Lunch break with a toasted cheese and ham sandwich.
Another scallop shell sighting in a manhole cover.
Giant ant sighting!
And Sara sighting!
This is a good sign. The albergue, Pension Santirso has fresh clean sheets for tonight.

Their accommodation for tonight is a top floor corner room. Quiet, no traffic and a great breeze. Dinner was great salads with local cheese and salmon. And mandatory ice cream before and after dinner.
