Ponferrada to Villafranca del Bierzo…

Today’s journey of 15 miles was made easier by walking on mostly sidewalk. And enjoying conversation along the way with Derrick and Clare, a couple from New Zealand, who bought Glenn a beer when they arrived at their accommodation for the night. As we talked, the weather changed from partly sunny, to rainy, then returning to sunshine. Which he hoped would stick around long enough to dry his laundry. The highlight of the day was catching an adult crane feeding its chicks in one of those huge nests.

Uh oh, God’s got a flat tire to fix.
Cranes provided lots of entertaining today.
Glenn saw the adult fly into the nest with a small animal dangling from its beak. We’re spared a view of the feeding frenzy.
The San Nicolas El Real hotel is located inside this former monastery.

Buen camino, Glenn!
