Grañon to Villafranca Montes de Oca…

Another grueling 18 mile walk today made much more pleasant with good conversations with Joe. Joe is a 75 year old retiree from the US Dept. of Agriculture and lives in Kentucky. They plan to continue together tomorrow. The next two days are shorter. 11 miles tomorrow and then 12 miles the next. Then, a blessed two night stay in Burgos! He will have traveled 1/3 of the way to Santiago.

Sundays in Spain are different…shops are either closed for the day or do not open until later. They passed through a couple of small towns and walked 10 kilometers before they found a place where they could get breakfast.

Just in case you really, really need a ride to your next hotel!
Maps along the way are encouraging.
Made to Villafrance-Montes de Oca… And a nice shower and bed for tonight!

He was grateful for a backpack transport these last few days of very long walks, but says he is ready to shoulder the load again tomorrow.

Buen camino, Glenn!

  1. Glad you found a walking buddy. Always makes the way seem lighter and shorter. We are enjoying the daily brief and gorgeous photos. Thanks!
    Stay well, keep stretching!
